We are excited to announce The Mayor of London has launched a Van Scrappage scheme to help tackle air quality. It is aimed at micro businesses and charities as they prepare for the arrival of the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ).
If your vehicle doesn't meet the new ULEZ standards you will need to pay the daily charge to drive within the zone.
Eligible micro businesses & charities can apply for a grant to scrap up to 3 older, more polluting vans & charity minibuses and switch to cleaner vehicles.

Daily charges as follows:
Euro 4 (NOx) for petrol cars, vans, minibuses
Euro 6 (NOx & PM) for diesel cars, vans & minibuses
Euro VI (NOx & PM) for lorries, buses & coaches and other specialist heavy vehicles (NOx and PM)

Option 1: Scrappage for frequent users of the Congestion Charging Zone (CCZ) (£3,500)
The vehicle being scrapped must:
Have been driven within the CCZ at least 52 times during the 6 months before 22 February 2019 - this will be checked against existing transactions in your London Road User Charging account.
Be a pre-Euro 6 model light van (or charity-owned minibus) that does not meet the ULEZ standards.

Organisation Eligibility Criteria:
Must be an active Microbusiness or Charity, registered at a City of London or London Borough address.
Vehicle Eligibility Criteria - The pre-Euro 6 Vehicle(s) being scrapped must be: Light van 3,500kg or less GVW category N1, or a Minibus 5,000kg or less GVW category M2 (only applicable to registered charities). Must have 9 seats or more.
Insured for business use and owned for at least 12 months before 22 Feb 2019 (start of the scheme)
Evidenced by: The vehicle(s) registration document (V5c) + current MOT certificate + insurance certificate.
Provide evidence the vehicle has been scrapped by producing a Certificate of Destruction (CoD) from an Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF) and provide evidence to confirm the replacement vehicle (new or second hand) is a Euro 6 compliant light van (or minibus for registered charities only) and has been purchased or leased. Vehicle registration document (v5c) (for new vehicle) - Proof of purchase (i.e. sales invoice) for replacement vehicle, or lease agreement (if the new vehicle has been leased) which needs to be for a minimum of 2 years and leased for business use. Insurance certificate (business use) & insurance schedule including premium.
Proof includes documents from Companies House, the Charity Commission or HMRC
Micro businesses must have: 10 or fewer employees - Up to £632k turnover OR up to £316k balance sheet total in the preceding and current financial year and Companies House registration as an active company in the UK OR be UK VAT registered.
Charities must be an - Entity registered with the Charity Commission as an active charity.
Vehicle Conditions - A van or minibus owned by a registered micro business or charity for more than 12 calendar months before 22 February 2019. Insured for business use. road taxed with a valid MOT, scrapped at an approved Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF),it must also fail to meet ULEZ emissions standards.
